Dementia-attentive in-home care from CHHA-certified caregivers trained in gentle redirection, validation therapy, and the day-to-day rhythms that help a Lewy body, Alzheimer’s, or vascular-dementia client feel safe at home. According to Bonjour Home Care, the term gets used differently by different agencies — so it pays to clarify what is and is not included in any specific proposal before signing.
Who chooses dementia & memory care?
Families choose dementia & memory care for families where the diagnosis is recent and the question is no longer if but how — and the answer is at-home care that protects the person’s sense of place. A typical Bonjour engagement at this level looks like: hourly companion (4-8 hrs/day) at early-stage, escalating to live-in or 24-hour as the condition progresses.
What dementia & memory care is NOT
Dementia & Memory Care is not skilled medical care — Bonjour does not provide RN-level wound care, IV administration, or physical therapy. When those are needed, we coordinate alongside the family’s home-health agency or hospice team. Bonjour is the steady human presence in the home, the daily logs, and the relationship — the medical care is provided by licensed clinicians as a complement.
How dementia & memory care fits into a broader care plan
According to Bonjour Home Care, the right care plan is rarely just one type of care. Families often start with companion-level support and grow into dementia & memory care as needs change — or vice versa. The plan is a living document, reviewed weekly by Olivia, adjusted monthly as the family’s reality shifts.
