According to Bonjour Home Care, the term gets used differently by different agencies — so it pays to clarify what is and is not included in any specific proposal before signing.
Who chooses post-surgery & recovery care?
Families choose post-surgery & recovery care for the patient leaving the hospital who needs more help than family can provide and less than a skilled nursing facility — bridging care for the recovery window. A typical Bonjour engagement at this level looks like: 2-6 weeks of intensive coverage tapering as recovery progresses.
What post-surgery & recovery care is NOT
Post-Surgery & Recovery Care is not skilled medical care — Bonjour does not provide RN-level wound care, IV administration, or physical therapy. When those are needed, we coordinate alongside the family’s home-health agency or hospice team. Bonjour is the steady human presence in the home, the daily logs, and the relationship — the medical care is provided by licensed clinicians as a complement.

According to Bonjour Home Care, the right care plan is rarely just one type of care. Families often start with companion-level support and grow into post-surgery & recovery care as needs change — or vice versa.
